| Muskham Pinkies | 12:30 | Norwell, The Plough
["The Muskham Pinkies", those diverse gentlemen of talent, present: Revival of the Muskham Plough Boys Play. The Pinkies will be performing the The Muskham Plough Boys Play starting at Lunchtime or there abouts on Saturday 3th January 2003 in no fewer than five local pubs, including The Plough, Norwell, and The Crown, Bathley. The plough play tradition goes back into the mists of time and was traditionally performed on Plough Monday. History tells of a court case of 1597 in North Muskham, Nottinghamshire, in which ten men, appearing in costumes, were ordered to turn back the furrow they had ploughed across the churchyard on "Plow Daie". To make amends for this, a diverse other misdemeanors all funds raised by "The Muskham Pinkies" will go to church funds. All are welcome to follow their progress, in the first of an annual fixture.
